Energy Medicine

According to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, “energy medicine is a domain that deals with energy fields, both those that can be measured (veritable) and those that have yet to be measured (putative).”

Therapies involving putative energy fields (also called biofields) are based on the premise that human beings are infused with a subtle form of energy that flows throughout the physical human body. This vital energy or life force is known under different names in different cultures, such as qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupuncture), ki in the Japanese Kampo system, doshas in Ayurvedic medicine, and elsewhere as prana, etheric energy, fohat, orgone, odic force, mana, and homeopathic resonance.

Examples of energy medicine modalities include, but are not limited to: qi gong, acupuncture, reiki, acupressure, homeopathy, aromatherapy, intuition medicine®, massage and transpersonal energy healing.
